50 new cases of COVID-19 in Columbus, ten people hospitalized


The Columbus County Health Department on Thursday announced 50 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the county’s total number of cases to 815.

Eighteen cases were confirmed Thursday, 16 on Wednesday, and 16 on Tuesday.

“There are currently ten Columbus County residents that are hospitalized due to COVID-19,” the health department said in a Thursday afternoon press release.

The total of 815 cases includes 44 deaths and approximately 633 recoveries, the health department said.

Approximately 8,115 COVID-19 tests have been performed in Columbus County.
