911 sees increase in mental crises, overdose calls

Columbus County saw a 28 percent increase in mental crisis and overdose calls to 911 from March through July of this year compared to the same period in 2019. Overdose calls rose 77 percent and mental crisis calls rose 10 percent. Overdoses saw the biggest increase, 186 percent, in July from 2019 to 2020.
