‘A great opportunity:’ grant funding helps students during remote learning

After watching students struggle with the transition to remote learning, Beverly Turner, director of federal programs at Whiteville City Schools, applied last year for a federal grant, hoping to provide tutoring, childcare and meals to kids in lower and middle schools.
