A year later, downtown plan still a vision – ‘The wheels of government always turn slow’

In 2021, Whiteville was buzzing with excitement at the prospect of a revitalized downtown, thanks to a master plan adopted by elected officials that would bring more greenery and less congestion to Madison Street. But now, a year later, the city has yet to make concrete progress on its ambitious proposal
