Appeal of Greene’s election as sheriff dismissed in Wake Superior Court

An appeal of the results of the November Columbus County sheriff’s election in which Republican challenger Jody Greene defeated Democratic incumbent Lewis Hatcher by 37 votes was dismissed Monday in Wake County Superior Court, one of three attorneys representing elections protester Gloria Smith confirmed Wednesday.
