The Whiteville High School baseball team paraded through town Friday afternoon before departing for the State Championship in Burlington.

The team, escorted by Columbus County Sheriff’s Office, Whiteville Police Department and Whiteville Fire Department, passed by each campus in the Whiteville City Schools. Students at Whiteville Primary School lined the fence along Chadbourn Highway with signs, banners and pom-poms in hand.

The Pack will face the Randleman Tigers Friday and Saturday in the 2A State Baseball Championship at Burlington Athletic Stadium.

The News Reporter’s Thomas Sherrill is covering the game from Burlington. Look for his coverage at NRcolumbus.com and in Tuesday’s edition of The News Reporter
