City school board elects Rogers as chair in split vote

In its Monday meeting, the Whiteville City Schools Board of Education elected Kandle Rogers as its chair for 2020, replacing Coleman Barbour in a 3-2 vote.

Board member Dave Flowers nominated Rogers; Greg Merritt then nominated incumbent chair Barbour for another term.
