Columbus reports 27 news COVID-19 cases since Thursday [free story]

Columbus County has gained 27 new cases of COVID-19 since Thursday afternoon, the health department announced Monday.

The health department confirmed 17 cases on Monday, three on Sunday, none on Saturday and seven on Friday.

Since the pandemic began, Columbus County has had a total of 1,117 COVID-19 cases, which includes 51 deaths and at least 933 recoveries.

“There are currently seven Columbus County residents that are hospitalized due to COVID-19,” according to a health department press release issued Monday afternoon.
