A Wellonton Apartments resident in Chadbourn has been arrested on cocaine charges after citizen complaints led to an investigation.

Sheriff Lewis Hatcher said Gene Archie Bellamy, 64, of 200 W. Sixth St., Apt. 9-1, was taken into custody Monday on charges of possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, sale and delivery of the drug, and maintaining a dwelling for drug activities. He is being held under $15,000 secured bond.

The arrest came after numerous citizen complaints about Bellamy, Hatcher said. Vice and Narcotics Agents conducted several undercover purchases from Bellamy, Hatcher said. Bellamy allegedly sold and distributed cocaine throughout the Chadbourn area.
