Lake Waccamaw Police are searching for a large aluminum boat lift that was stolen recently.

Chief Scott Hyatt said the 18’ aluminum boatlift was in the back yard of a residence in the 1400 block of Canal Cove while a pier is being rebuilt. The lift was moved in one piece into the yard, and vanished between June 4 and June 8.

“It’s too large to fit in the average truck,” Hyatt said. “This thing required a large trailer, and took quite a bit of effort.”

Anyone who might have seen the lift being moved or have information about the theft is asked to call 646-3558 and leave a message. All calls are kept confidential.
