A repeat offender has been jailed after investigators said she was distributing narcotics in Chadbourn, Clarendon and Beaverdam.

Barbara Denise Crawford, 44, of 1123 Dessie Road, was charged with one count each of possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, sale and delivery, and maintaining a dwelling for drug activities, according to jail reports. She was held under $6,000 secured bond.

Crawford – who has been arrested repeatedly for drug trafficking, sale of marijuana, cocaine and prescription pills, as well as other offenses since 2007 – came back on county narcotics agents’ radar earlier this year. Numerous undercover purchases of narcotics were made from Crawford, Sheriff Lewis Hatcher said, before she was arrested July 9.
