Dorothy Annette Stanley Strickland, age 79 of the Mollie Community in Clarendon, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2019 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, with family by her side.
Ms. Strickland was born on April 20, 1940 in Columbus County to the late Floyd Monroe “F.M.” Stanley, Jr. and Dorothy Ann S. Stanley. She was the widow of the late Dewey Lee Strickland and was also preceded in death by her grandson, Houston Lee Strickland and her siblings, Donald “Wayne” Stanley and Douglas McArthur “Mack” Stanley.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 16, 2019 at Worthington Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Green Family Cemetery, Cerro Gordo.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00, Thursday Evening at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn.
Ms. Strickland leaves behind three children, Tammie Lanette S. Best and husband, Rev. Ray Best of Clarendon, Darrell Lee Strickland and wife, Jody of Eutawville, SC, Leala “Kim” Dew and husband, Jamie of Clarendon; sister, Betty G. Harrelson of Clarendon; grandchildren, Anthony Best (Donna), Alicia Stevens (Brad), Justin Long, Leah Dew; great-grandchildren, Trey, Wyatt, Baylee, Ayden, Hunter, and Conner.
