The East Columbus High School Baccalaureate Service for the class of 2018 took place in the Leamon Rogers Memorial Chapel in early June.
“Boys and Girls Homes of North Carolina is proud to be a vital part of our community,” said B&GH President Gary Faircloth. “We are honored to have the students and families from East Columbus High School come out each year to share this special event in the Leamon Rogers Chapel.”
The religious ceremony tied to graduation included a solo by GraceAnna Sessions and a message by Pastor Brian Beaver of Bethel Baptist Church of Riegelwood.
“It was a marvelous event,” said B&GH Pastor Joe Kennedy. “The solo by GraceAnna of ‘I Am Not Alone’ was a beautiful heartfelt tribute reminding us that the Lord is always with us on our journey of life. Pastor Brian Beaver rocked the rafters with an on-fire, spirit-filled message inspiring us to be honest and humble.”
Beaver said, “Jesus turns it upside down. If you want to be great, be humble. You see the way up, is down on your knees, serving others. Help others! God never promised it would be easy, but He promises it will be possible.”
