Evelyn Smith McKenzie, 91, of the Cedar Grove community, died Sunday, July 22, 2018 at Bladen East Health and Rehab of Elizabethtown.
Final rites will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 28 at Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Ronnie Clarida officiating. Viewing will be held from noon-7 p.m. July 27 at Smith Funeral Home and Saturday, July 28 one hour prior to and following the service at the church. Burial will be in Belvue Cemetery in Chadbourn.
She is survived by four daughters, Carolyn Jenette Goodson and Roxanne Cathcart, both of Plainfield, N.J., Ann Lois Harper of Irvington, N.J., Ella M. Lanier of Whiteville of Plainfield; one stepdaughter, Alice Louise George of New York, N.Y.; two sisters, Bobbie M. Lowe and Orbina HIllman, both of Columbus, Ga.; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and special children, Bobby and Clara Hardie.
