The Lake Waccamaw Depot Museum will replace the longtime missing marker honoring Lake Waccamaw’s Revolutionary War Captain Absalom Powell. The first marker was dedicated by the DAR on August 18, 1933, on the lake shore at the end of Columbia Ave. The marker will be replaced on the depot grounds. The dedication will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 9 at Lake Waccamaw Depot Museum.
