“Christmas from the Heart” Craft Show is December 8
Two market days are on the Columbus County Farmers Market schedule for 2018: Saturday, December 1, will be a regular farmers market day from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. with a limited variety of fall vegetables including arugula, bok choy, mustard greens, kale, collards, sweet potatoes, as well as homemade baked goods, honey, honey soaps, eggs, jams, jellies, pickles, and fresh-cut flowers.
The final market day of the season will be Saturday, December 8, when the Farmers Market will host the 12th annual “Christmas from the Heart” Craft Show & Sale from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Admission to the show is free. All items, including crafts, baked goods, jams, jellies, pickles, relishes, etc. must be handcrafted or homemade by local residents.
“Given the kind of year we have had regarding local crops, we are excited to end the market season on a high note with a focus on handcrafted or homemade items that will make wonderful holiday gifts,” said Susie Rockel, market manager. “We hope everyone will come out on December 8 and show their support for the market,” she added.
In addition to crafts, a limited variety of farm fresh fall vegetables will also be available for sale.
The Columbus County Farmers Community Market is located at 132 Government Complex Road in Whiteville, North Carolina near the Department of Social Services.
