Nov. 21 would have marked Columbus Regional Healthcare System Foundation’s 16th Annual Gala. Even though an in-person event could not be held due to the pandemic, the foundation is still planning a party. This year’s “No Show Gala” will be a virtual silent auction running Nov. 16-21. Securely bid on auction and raffle items online at www.one.bidpal.net/crhsnoshowgala/welcome
All money raised will go toward the CRHS Foundation Emergency Response Fund. This fund was created at the start of the pandemic with the goal of supporting front line workers and the community. So far, the donations have purchased:
- iPads for patients to communicate with their families
- 10,000 face masks for the hospital and network practices
- 20 PAPR kits and battery chargers for air-purifying respirators
“The goal of this year’s event is to honor the hospital and its teammates who have been on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Brenda Jolly, chair of the CRHS Foundation Board of Directors.
“None of us expected the issues we’ve experienced due to COVID, but it has given us an opportunity to expand what we can do for the community,” Jolly said. “For example, purchasing iPads for patients to communicate with their families.”
Supporters can participate in the silent auction, purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win 12 one-hour massages, donate to the emergency response fund or become a sponsor for this year’s event at www.bidpal.net/crhsnoshowgala
“We are proud the Foundation Board and Gala Committee found a way to continue this tradition during this uncertain time,” said John Young, president and CEO of CRHS. “As always, we are thankful for the support shown to our hospital foundation”
The Silent Auction is available online for viewing, and bidding will begin at 8 a.m. on Nov. 16 and will end at 9 p.m. on Nov. 21.
The winners of the raffle will be announced and contacted Monday, Nov. 23.
