Event Details

The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences at Whiteville presents Science Cinema, Saturday, April 27, featuring “Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax.” This animated adventure follows the journey of a young boy Ted (voice of Zac Efron) who lives in a town where everything appears to be plastic, including the plants. Hopelessly smitten with the beautiful Audrey (Taylor Swift) who dreams of one day seeing a real tree, Ted leaves the city determined to find the flora and grant her wish. Along the way, he crosses paths with the Lorax (Danny DeVito), a diminutive, mustached defender of nature who doesn’t take kindly to human intruders. This computer-animated adventure is based on the classic Dr. Seuss children’s tale that promotes caring for the environment and the Earth’s natural resources.

This free 93-minute film will be shown at 10:00 a.m., noon and 2 p.m., and is rated PG. Science Cinema programming is funded by a grant from the International Paper Foundation.

Science Cinema films are designed to educate and enlighten as much as entertain. To extend the learning experience of “Dr.Seuss’ The Lorax”  please visit our education table after the film.
