“Explosive Chemistry” topic of Whiteville Teen Science Café March 15
(Whiteville, NC) – Calling all teens! Join us for an explosive night of chemistry! Gary Nealy, Chemistry instructor at Southeastern Community College (SCC), and Clifton Young, Lab Technician at SCC, will reveal how chemistry can be both entertaining and educational. Teens will learn about the chemistry of explosives and participate in fun hands-on demonstrations. This Teen Science Café takes place Friday, March 15, 5:00-6:30 p.m.
Teen Science Café is an informal, interactive program with a visiting scientist or professional expert that promotes exploration, creativity and lifelong learning. Teen Science Café Whiteville programs are free. A free pizza dinner is offered at the end of the event, provided by Anthony’s Italian Restaurant.

Coming in April: Join us for a hands-on night of 3D modeling led by Brittany Morago, PhD, a Computer Science professor at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Participants will explore the technology behind 3D scanners and sensors used in self-driving cars, robotics, video game systems, medicine, archaeology and more! Discover how images and measurements are used to make 3D models of everything from people to the city of Pompeii!
