The NC Museum of Natural Sciences in Whiteville offers the Let’s Go Fishing! An ecoEXPLORE Skill Session on Saturday, Oct. 23 at 11 a.m. at Helm’s Nature Preserve. This event is free, but registration is required.
Participants can build their own simple fishing pole and catch some fish to make observations towards an Ichthyology Badge! Wildlife Action is allowing the use of their private pond for this program, so no fishing license is required. Just bring a device to take pictures of your catch!
This program is geared towards current participants in the free ecoEXPLORE citizen science program for kids ages 5-12. If you are interested in joining this initiative, please register and come learn all about it. Sign up for your free ecoEXPLORE account ahead of time at ecoEXPLORE.net.
Space is limited in this program so register soon! Register by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org with the number of children and adults attending. Each child will build their own fishing pole to keep.
