The Columbus County Department of Aging will present a free Medicare/MIPPA seminar with updates and savings information, Wednesday, March 6, at Whiteville United Methodist Church, 902 Pinckney Street. If you are turning 65 in the next several months or you already receive Medicare, you might need free, objective information about Medicare, Medicare supplements, Medicare prescription drug plans and Medicare savings programs, LIS, fraud prevention and medication assistance.

Health needs change from year to year, and benefits and costs of health plans may change each year. The seminar is open to anyone new to Medicare or interested in learning more about Medicare and the Medicare Savings program updates for 2019. A division of the N.C. Department of Insurance, the Seniors’ Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) provides free and unbiased information about Medicare.

A team of experts representing the N.C. Department of Insurance, Columbus County Department of Aging, Columbus County Department of Social Services, Social Security Administration, Area Agency on Aging, Coastal Horizons and the Columbus County RSVP will present Medicare related information and will be available to answer questions.
