Discover the myths, mysteries and misconceptions about nocturnal birds. What does the screech of a Screech owl sound like? Do Barn Owls really like barns? And what about the horns of a Great Horned Owl? There are many interesting “facts”, and myths, about nocturnal animals.
Come learn the avian truth and a few cultural highlights about things that go “HOOT” or “WHIPPOORWILL” or “PEENT” in the night.
Afterwards, join museum staff for an OWL-natomy lesson by taking an in-depth look at the skeletons and muscles of several birds of the night.
This is a free event.
