Event Details

The Columbus County Community Farmers Market will feature its Old Fashioned Farm Day this Saturday, June 12.

According to interim market manager Carol Shuman, the day will feature games, maybe some tractors and museum items.

“We are hoping, depending on the weather, to have old tractors there,” Shuman said. “Vendors will be bringing old-timey equipment, things they’ve used on the farm. Horry County Museum will bring their artifacts. Also, they told me they plan on having some old-timey games for children to play.”

Old Fashioned Farm Day is June’s special event for the Columbus County Community Farmers Market, which offers local produce and homemade items every Saturday from May through Dec. 4. The market takes place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., while the special event this Saturday is from 9 a.m. to noon.

“Right now, there’s a good variety of squash, cucumbers, lettuce, beets,” Shuman said. “Potatoes, onions, green beans, pretty much all the summer vegetables are coming in right now.”

The farmers market is at 132 Government Complex Rd., Whiteville.
