Teen Science Cafe Whiteville to explore Video Projection Mapping on Friday, September 20 at 5:00 pm. All area teens are invited to discover how video projection mapping is able to transform any object into a screen! Gone are the days of flat projection, as projection mapping has the ability to take a real-world object, such as a building, and project onto its walls to create stunning illusions of 3D art, create immersive environments and amazing interactive experiences. Attendees will learn how this technology works and will have the opportunity to try it out! No background knowledge required.
Our speaker, Gene A. Felice II is an assistant professor in Digital Art within the department of Art & Art History at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. He bridges his creative practice across art, science, education and design, developing a sustainable network of innovation, living systems, and emerging technologies. He will be sharing how video and animated imagery displayed via projection mapping can transform two dimensional surfaces and architectural structures into three-dimensional storytelling systems.
Join us at NCMNS at Whiteville, 415 South Madison Street in Whiteville, on Friday, September 20, 2019 at 5:00 pm. Questions? Contact Vicki DiMuzio at vicki.dimuzio@naturalsciences .org
