Have you ever wanted to learn about snakes in our area? A presentation covering the topic is at Lake Waccamaw State Park visitor center Saturday, June 22 at 1 p.m. and Sunday, June 23 at 1 p.m. The program includes an introduction to snakes and how many are estimated in the USA, and NC. Participants will also learn about the 37 species of native snakes to NC and the differences between them. Such differences include egg layers vs. live births and venomous vs. nonvenomous. Also snake safety and identification tips will also be discussed along with interesting myths about our scaly friends.
