The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences at Whiteville has partnered with Phi Theta Kappa, Southeastern Community College Chapter and is seeking volunteers to help with the cleanup of debris from Hurricane Florence cluttering the Lakeshore Trail of Lake Waccamaw State Park.

The cleanup will take place from 9:00 a.m. until noon on Saturday, December 1. Volunteers are asked to meet at the Lake Waccamaw State Park visitor center located at 1866 State Park Drive, Lake Waccamaw, NC 28450. Volunteers are encouraged to dress for the weather, wear closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothes that can get dirty or wet. All other materials will be provided. This service project is recommended for ages 8 and up. Registration is not required, but for more information please contact the museum at 910-914-4185 or Whiteville@naturalsciences.org.
