Event Details
Join the fun of all things “buggy” and get to know your six-legged neighbors at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences at Whiteville’s BugFest South, held Saturday, May 12 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
BugFest South is a free, family-friendly festival celebrating the creepy, crawly creatures. Enjoy a day of entertaining displays, engaging presentations, exhibits and activities – both inside and outside the Museum. Bring out your inner arachnid by competing in the Arthropod Olympics, cheer on Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches at the Roachingham 500, get a taste of entomophagy (the practice of eating bugs) by voting for the best insect-infused dishes at Café Insecta and learn all about the bugs that make up three-quarters of all animals on Earth at our Arthropod Zoo.
Admission to the Museum is free, but donations are appreciated. For more information, please contact the Museum at 910-914-4185 or whiteville@naturalsciences.org.
