Fair Bluff Town Council awaits state OK to buy downtown; no budget action yet

The North Carolina’s Parks and Recreation Trust Fund will not currently allow Fair Bluff to spend PARTF grant money to acquire vacant downtown buildings destroyed by flooding because appraisals on them are two years old.

Recovery for Fair Bluff’s flood-damaged downtown faces another hurdle, the town council learned Tuesday evening.   Al Leonard, part-time consultant for the town, explained that acquisition of properties cannot begin until the town reaches resolution on an appraisal issue with officials of North Carolina’s Parks and Recreation Trust Fund
