Flower power: dozens of planters make debut in downtown Whiteville

Downtown Whiteville bloomed Wednesday. McPherson Greenhouses, under a contract with the city, planted flowers in the new 3-foot pots on Madison Street throughout the day. The pots replaced trees the city recently removed from the sidewalks.
