Grand old flag – Stars and stripes cover nearly half the house

A Whiteville family is marking the Fourth of July by displaying an American flag that is surely one of the largest in Columbus County. 

Every year, Houston Barnes decorates his home just north of downtown for Independence Day. But he outdid himself this time.
