More than seven months after the November general election, Jody Greene’s election as sheriff of Columbus County was certified Thursday by the Columbus County Board of Elections.

The election of Republican Greene over Democratic incumbent Lewis Hatcher by 37 votes has been the subject of numerous board of election hearings
