House map would move some Columbus voters to different district

The N.C. House adopted this map Friday and the Senate followed on Monday. The map redraws the line that divides District 16, in pink represented by Rep. Carson Smith, and District 46, in purple represented by Rep. Brenden Jones.

Some Columbus County residents would be moved to a different State House district under a proposed map the House adopted Friday after a state court ruled that the current maps were illegally drawn two years ago to favor Republican office seekers. The Senate is scheduled to consider the districts Monday
