Whiteville Rescue EMTs Lee Parker, Thomas Prodgen and David Carter practice with the unit’s new Hurst Tool Jaws of Life in the spring of 1982. WRU was the first unit in the county to use the lifesaving tool, designed to pry open wrecked cars.
