Lillian Gray Jones died Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCare Center in Whiteville. Lillian was born Feb. 24, 1933 to the late Charlie J. Jones Sr. and the late Effie Stevens Jones.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Kathleen Jones; and two brothers, Charlie J. Jones Jr. and J.C. Jones.
She worked for 43 years as an insurance clerk in the Personnel Department at Federal Paper. She was a member of Lake Waccamaw United Methodist Church.
Her funeral service was held Thursday, July 11 at Lake Waccamaw United Methodist Church with Rev. Chuck Smith officiating. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery. McKenzie Mortuary of Whiteville served the family.
Lillian is survived by one sister, Doris J. Sealey of Lake Waccamaw; three nieces; Bobbie Austin (Ray) of Suffolk, Va., Patty Hobbs (Billy) and Catherine Cook (Bud), both of Lake Waccamaw; one nephew, Mike Jones (Betty) of Wetumpka, Ala.; and several great nieces and great nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Lake Waccamaw United Methodist Church, 506 Lake Shore Dr., Lake Waccamaw, N.C. 28450 or Soft Bones Inc., 141 Hawkins Place, #264, Boonton, N.J., 07005.
