Dr. Jerry Paschal, superintendent of Columbus County Schools, accepted the keys to a 1973 Oldsmobile from D.T. Cooper, zone manager of Oldsmobile Division of GM. The car was to be used by the school systems’ auto technician program. Along with Paschal and representing the county school system are: Homer Thomas, assistant superintendent; Floyd Wilson, principal of Hallsboro High School; Dr. Paschal; Jim Rabon, occupational director; and Carl Bryan, auto mechanics teacher of Hallsboro High School. Harold Wells (right) of Wells Oldsmobile joined Cooper in presenting the keys to Paschal.
