GETTING BOOKED — Freddy Norris gets a mug shot taken during his stay at the American Cancer Society’s Jail-A-Thon. A few “prisoners” were apprehended, locked in an open air cell and given a telephone directory to contact “bondsmen.” Whiteville citizens raised more than $9,000 for cancer research during the fun and frolic of the jail-a-thon.
