Five members of the N.C. Air National Guard at Mount Olive collected water samples at Lake Waccamaw to be tested by E.C. Hargrove (pictured second from right) of the state’s Environment Protection Agency. It was part of a landmark project aimed at helping state and federal authorities identify and analyze potential water pollution threats.
