A Clarkton area man is facing charges in Columbus and Bladen counties after authorities raided his home to find an indoor marijuana operation.

Andrew James Ellis, 37, of 9329 Mercer Mill Rd., Clarkton, was arrested by the Bladen-Columbus Narcotics Task Force on Tuesday.

Andrew James Ellis was arrested by Columbus and Bladen law enforcement officers on a variety of drug charges.

Columbus County Sheriff Lewis Hatcher said Ellis was charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver marijuana and cocaine related to an investigation here. Bladen County’s charges included felony possession of marijuana, manufacturing marijuana, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver the drug, and maintaining a dwelling for drug purposes. Ellis was held under a $30,000 secured bond.

Officers found a large marijuana production operation in the home, located near the Clarkton town limits. Mature plants, equipment and other paraphernalia were confiscated.

Hatcher said complaints from both counties led to the investigation.
