An incident Monday involving at least nine people resulted in a man being hospitalized after suffering a stab wound in the head.
According to a Columbus County Sheriff’s Office incident report, the incident happened July 26 at 8:04 p.m. in the 2300 block of Williams Road and involved physical assault, assault by pointing a gun and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
“After an altercation, Shikei Reakwon Daniels, 24, of Ten Mile Road, Tabor City, was stabbed,” CCSO spokesperson Michele Tatum stated. The CCSO report said that at least nine people had been involved.
At 8:11 p.m., according to Tabor City police reports, officers stopped an Acura on U.S. 701 South near Complex Street after seeing the vehicle fail to stop at a red light while its hazard lights were on. TCPD discovered Daniels in the front passenger seat of the vehicle.
According to the TCPD report, Daniels “was holding a shirt to his face and stated he had been stabbed and they were attempting to get to the hospital in Loris, S.C.”
TCPD called for Tabor City Emergency Services and notified CCSO.
“Daniels stated that he had been stabbed by an unknown individual while a [dispute] over money occurred,” the TCPD report continues.
An AirLink helicopter transported Daniels to the hospital, TCPD states, although the report doesn’t specify which hospital. TCPD issued the driver a verbal warning for the traffic violation and CCSO towed the vehicle.
No arrests had been made for the incident as of midday Tuesday for the stabbing, Tatum said.
