Man arrested in Hallsboro breaking and entering


An arrest has been made in a late September theft at a Hallsboro home, according to the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office.

Carl Andrew Herring II, 37, of 500 Country Village Estates, Whiteville, was arrested and charged Monday after allegedly being caught on security camera entering an Elbow Road residence on Sept. 29 and removing  a crossbow, miscellaneous power and hand tools and a fold-up chair. 

He was charged with felony breaking and entering, felony larceny and a failure to appear on a misdemeanor warrant. Herring was issued a $5,500 secured bond.
