Columbus County government announced Friday that the Monday, May 16, county commissioners meeting was canceled.
The cancellation, which did not include an explanation, came on the day in which the county would have ordinarily sent the full agenda and board packet to the media. On Wednesday, as is customary, county government sent a pre-agenda to the press. In addition to approving the agenda, the only action items on the pre-agenda were approving four proclamations.
The next scheduled county commissioners’ meeting is slated for Monday, June 6, and will include a public hearing on the proposed budget.
