Nancy Alene Smith Reaves, 63, died Monday, Oct. 21, 2019 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCare Center in Whiteville. Born July 17, 1956 in Columbus County, she was the daughter of Lizzie Mae Watts Smith of Tabor City and the late Hubert Eldridge Smith and the widow of Clyde Milton Reaves.

In addition to her father and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Benny Eugene Smith Sr.

Visitation will be held  from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22 at Inman Ward Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23 at Pireway Freewill Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by one daughter, Jennifer Reaves McPherson and husband, Rocky, of Clarendon; one sister, Vickie Smith Ward of Tabor City; and one grandchild, Angel McPherson .
