New warrants: Ex-police chief embezzled money intended for leukemia patient’s family

State investigators now allege that former Chadbourn Police Chief Anthony Spivey embezzled $8,000 intended for the family of Phillip Tanner Buffkin, a 14-year-old who died in August 2019 of leukemia.

The details emerged in 17 new charges that were to be served to Spivey, most of which involved allegedly stealing and selling guns
