BB&T to announce new ‘workplace strategy’ for Whiteville

BB&T, one of Columbus County’s largest employers, will hold a press conference Tuesday morning “to announce significant workplace strategy plans in downtown Whiteville,” according to a press release issued Thursday afternoon.

Speakers at the event will include Phil Marion, southeast regional president; Candi Bass, director of client care centers, client engagement and client first solution; and Donta Wilson, chief client experience officer.

The press conference will take place at the Kramer Soccer Field at the corner of W. Columbus St. and S. Lee St.

BB&T is the 7th largest employer in Columbus County, with approximately 500 employees, according to the N.C. Department of Commerce.

BB&T is one of the largest financial services holding companies in the U.S. with $220.7 billion in assets and market capitalization of approximately $40.6 billion, as of March 31.
