The Columbus County Parks and Recreation Department will sponsor the 28th annual Candlelight gathering Thursday, Nov. 30.  For safety purposes, this year’s event will have glow sticks instead of candles beginning at 5:30 p.m. at Vineland Station.
Kathryn Ogden has coordinated local talent with a program to ring in the holiday season.
The Columbus County Recreation Department has partnered with the Columbus County Arts Council to provide free hot chocolate and sweet treats.
This program has been very successful in the past with a great deal of community support.  The first candlelight walk was held in 1990 during the Gulf War. Columbus County citizens came together as a single unit, 700-plus strong, lit a candle and joined voices in support.
Join the Columbus County Parks and Recreation Department at the west end of Vineland depot near Madison Street to pay tribute to the holiday season and honoring service people throughout the world.
