The county commissioners named County Attorney and Interim County Manager Mike Stephens as new county manager Monday night.
Stephens has been county attorney for eight years.
Stephens was in the Highway Patrol before he retired, attended law school and became an assistant district attorney before accepting the county attorney’s position.
He replaces Bill Clark, who retired last month.
The commissioners did not address their timeline for choosing a new county attorney.
