Fun interactive activities for all ages. Please bring a flashlight, blanket, or chair to the Wildlife Action of NC – Helm’s Preserve, 543 Sunset Terrace, Whiteville. This is a free family event: no pets, coolers, alcohol, or smoking permitted. The N.C. Science Festival’s annual Statewide Star Party is made possible through the generous support of the N.C. Space Grant.

The county’s annual spring litter sweep will be held Saturday, April 21. Volunteers will gather at the North Whiteville Recycling Center near the Department of Social Services at 9 a.m. The sweep will continue until 11 a.m. Volunteers will be provided bags, gloves and vests and assigned areas for clean-up if need be. The Southeastern Community College Student Government Association invites you to a free outdoor movie night on the front lawn of the SCC campus on April 27 featuring the animated film Despicable Me 3.
The mischievous Minions hope that Gru will return to a life of crime after the new boss of the Anti-Villain League fires him. Instead, Gru decides to remain retired and travel to Freedonia to meet his long-lost twin brother for the first time. The reunited siblings soon find themselves in an uneasy alliance to take down the elusive Balthazar Bratt, a former 1980s child star who seeks revenge against the world.
Despicable Me 3 will begin at 8:00 p.m. with cash only concessions available starting at 7:00 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket to sit on.
