Betty Clamp Soles, 89, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021, in Magnolia Place. She was formerly of Tabor City, and Bonneau, S.C. Born June 12, 1932, in Lexington County, she was the daughter of the late Henry Reedy Clamp and Pearl Agnes Lybrand Clamp.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Perry Howard and Douglas McArthur Soles.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by one son, Mike Soles; one grandson, Douglas Michael Soles; one brother, Bert Clamp; and two sisters, Marrene Long and Ruby Gantt.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday Sept. 25, in the Soles Cemetery at Soles Cemetery Lane, Tabor City. A memorial service will be held honoring her life at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, in The Edge Church, 3220 Platt Springs Rd., W. Columbia, S.C. 29169. Inman Ward Funeral Home & Crematory of Tabor City is serving the family.
She is survived by two sons, Tony Soles and wife, Donna, of Bonneau, S.C., Skip Howard and wife, Gloria, of Lexington, S.C.; three brothers, Donald Clamp and Curtis Clamp, both of Lexington, S.C., Wayne Clamp of Gilbert, S.C.; five grandchildren, Whitney Gutierrez, Clint Soles, Celeste Zeigler, Randy Soles and Amanda Soles; and four great-grandchildren.
