Dr. Albert Sidney Ezra Singletary Jr., 82, died Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at his home.
He was the former pastor of Center Missionary Baptist Church, a U.S. Army veteran, and a 33rd Degree Mason.
Viewing will be held from 5-6 p.m. Friday, April 9 in the Peoples Funeral Home Chapel in Whiteville. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 10, on the grounds of Center Missionary Baptist Church, 19569 N.C. Hwy. 410 South, Bladenboro, with Dr. Timothy A. Lance officiating. Burial will be in the Kelly Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Norma Singletary; four children, Reginald Singletary (Paula) of Concord, Chandler Dion Singletary (Katonya) of Kannapolis, Melissa Singletary and Sonya Sellars (Rodney), both of Charlotte; five sisters, Arlene Overton and Marilyn Smith (Edward), both of Charlotte, Selma Brooks of Bladenboro, Sheriel McDonald (C.H.) of Whiteville and Marion Leggett (Artegus) of Youngstown, Ohio; and two brothers, Leroy Singletary (Shirley) of Bladenboro and Donald Singletary (Agnes) of Lumberton.
