Anna Jane Stanton Collier, 87, died Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at Autumn Care of Myrtle Grove. She was born July 24, 1933, to the late Howard Stanton and Emma Alford Stanton. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death in 2006 by her loving husband of 53 years, James Frederick Collier Jr. She was also preceded in death by her two sisters, Margaret W. Curry of Mullins, S.C. and Mary W. Cook of Whiteville.
Anna Jane was a graduate of Whiteville High School in 1951. She was employed with the Columbus County Agriculture Extension office until 1966 when she started working with her husband, Fred, at Collier TV Appliance and Furniture until their retirement in 1997. She was a longtime active member of First Presbyterian Church in Whiteville.
Interment has been planned for Saturday, June 5, at 1 p.m. at Whiteville Memorial Cemetery. McKenzie Mortuary of Whiteville is serving the Collier family.
Anna Jane is survived by one daughter, Marianne Collier Wayne (Greg) of Wilmington; one son, James “Jimmy” Frederick Collier III (Kathy) of Morristown, N.J.; grandchildren, Stanton Wayne Bissette (Thomas) and Gregory Allen Wayne Jr. (Melissa), both of Wilmington, Anna Wayne Streisel (Bobby) of Mount Pleasant, S.C., Sara Beth Collier Duyck (Fred) of Raleigh, Emily Collier Porter (Sutton) of Charlotte, Maggie Collier of Nashville, Tenn and Brooks Collier of New York, N.Y.; and nine great-grandchildren.
